5.0 out of 5 stars The Little Things Count!, June 12, 2010
This review is from: The Compound Effect (Perfect Paperback)
This book by Darren Hardy, publisher of Success magazine, shows you how seemingly insignificant changes can create huge differences in outcomes. That's what makes the strategies in his book so doable. You don't have to set an unreachable goal to be successful. Instead, you just need to keep doing the little things - even when the immediate results aren't apparent.

As Darren so clearly demonstrates, it's your habits and choices that make the difference. And, he shows you how understanding your "why-power" enables you to make the daily changes that yield massive results. Personally, I enjoyed learning about his own success habits too. Very impressive. I have a lot to learn from him!

To sum it all up: The little things you do add up to success - so do them. This easy-to-read book is motivational, filled with lots of "how to" advice and definitely worthwhile.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy this book, it has the goods!, July 9, 2010
This review is from: The Compound Effect (Perfect Paperback)
The world was never easy. Somehow during this economy, we feel like have never been 'there' before. We have. There were inspirational leaders during those times who are 'leaders of leaders' if you will. Maybe you read Jim Rohn in the 70's, in the 80's and 90's you added Tony Robbins. As Billy Joel said, "we didn't start the fire". It was never easy.

Well, what if you had a mentor influenced by these important figures, who through sheer passion was able to become a multi millionaire in his mid twenties? And he continues to be successful in our 'troubled times' And what's even better is that he appears to be as nice a guy as you might ever meet. To good to be true, you say? Check out The Compound Effect, by Darren Hardy to see the psychology behind how he did it.

Now, I realize I am throwing it on heavy here, I am not on the payroll. I am passionate high school and college teacher with an entrepreneurial spirit; I have seen my high school and college kids be successful for YEARS using these principles. Darren simplifies them in a cohesive fashion, but keeps you accountable. No get rich quick stuff here, its got the goods. People who have read 100's of leadership books will still get much from this work.

The book includes details of how to foster discipline in your life. Some personal development books are inspirational, but lack detailed points about "how they did it". When I read the book, I had the feeling that Darren was a personal coach. The style is accessible in that way.

I have spent hours reading Tony Robbins, Jim Rohn and now books like The Compound Effect, and it has made a world of difference in my ability to teach and growth my small businesses. Night and day in 6 years. Buy The Compound Effect because it will change your life. I see the change in the eyes of my students everyday.

As my two year old once said, "Let's do this." I hope you are as inspired as I was by this great book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rhino Charging, June 17, 2010
This review is from: The Compound Effect (Perfect Paperback)
Darren takes what we all know and have learned for years which is: know what you want, set the goals, track them. Then he takes it to the next level that brings it all together; stick to it so that the Compound Effect works. I just lost 120 lbs. in 7 months using the strategies of the Compound Effect. Most stop short of allowing the compound effect to take place. It's his style of reminding you to STICK TO IT and KEEP DRIVING on a direct path to your desired goal. The Compound Effect is right on. Thanks Darren and this is a must read for anyone desiring to multiply your success one step at the time. Gene King, Charleston, SC
